What is ABNT NBR ISO 9001:2008?
ABTN is the brazilian version of the international standard ISO 9001:2000 that establishes the requirements for the quality management system (SGQ) of an organization, which does not necessarily mean the compliance of a product with its specifications. The goal of ABNT NBR ISO 9001:2008 is to make sure that the supplier can provide, in a consistent and repetitive way, products and services that comply with the required specifications. This means that the supplier has established a systemic approach for the quality management and that they are managing their business in a way that ensures that your needs will be understood, accepted and met. The evidence of the compliance with ABNT NBR ISO 9001:2008 must not, however, be considered as a replacement for the commitment of the product compliance, which is inherent in the supplier.
